How did it all begin?
We had been running nationwide workshops for the Teaching Council. In that time, we heard principals and teachers regularly voice their frustrations about appraisal systems. Teachers were gathering loads of evidence. But the evidence gathered didn't have a purpose, beyond ‘proving’ something. This was the genesis of Arinui - figuring out how the analysis of evidence could be judicious, meaningful and improvement focused.
We started Arinui in 2016 with The Tarn Group, a Dunedin-based digital solutions provider. Together we built a tool to improve teacher reflective practice.
In 2019, Arinui progressed to become its own entity. It continues to evolve and grow to meet the needs of its users. We have a strong ongoing relationship with Arinui. We use Arinui to support us with our professional growth and the development of our team.
