Kerry Hall
Kerry is a PLD consultant based in Canterbury.
She is approved to deliver Ministry of Education PLD in the following areas:
Structured literacy approaches

Kerry works with schools in the following areas:

Digital technologies, digital fluency, literacy, mathematics, and statistics (yrs 1-8)

Leadership and change management
Her facilitation has included school-wide PLD in assessment for learning, where she has supported staff through hui, team sessions, and one-on-one coaching. Kerry has helped schools develop coherent assessment frameworks, build teacher confidence in using tools like e-asTTle and PaCT, and embed formative practices such as low-stakes retrieval and structured feedback. She has led moderation cycles, supported the use of progression tools, and guided leaders in developing observation protocols and learning walks. Her work consistently strengthens assessment literacy, improves consistency in OTJs, and enhances the use of data to inform teaching and learning
In structured literacy Kerry has led PLD across years 0–8, supporting differentiated instruction and acceleration strategies. Her mathematics facilitation includes designing workshops that integrate content knowledge, pedagogical strategies, and inclusive practices as well as supporting schools to implement and embed the maths curriculum
She has over two decades of classroom and leadership experience, including roles as Associate Principal and Team Leader at Cashmere Primary Te Pae Kererū, where she led curriculum and assessment initiatives across the school.
Kerry is an accredited Leading Adult Learning facilitator, supporting leaders in New Zealand and Australia to focus on building leadership confidence, strengthen team dynamics, and foster learning cultures that drive real impact.
She holds a Master of Education with First Class Honours from the University of Canterbury, alongside a Bachelor of Education, Diploma of Teaching, a Diploma in ICT in Education and Cox Campus Structured Literacy Certificate (IDA accredited).
Outside work, Kerry enjoys spending time with her husband, supporting her three children in their sporting and cultural pursuits and enjoying good food and wine with her extended family and friends.
