Jane Nicholls
Jane is the National Manager, Publications, leading our content design and development team. Underpinned by the principles of Universal Design for Learning, Jane leads the design of effective, engaging, user-friendly, culturally responsive, and inclusive content.
She has expertise in:
New Zealand Curriculum and digital fluency
adult learning pedagogy
content strategy, design, writing, and editing (print and online)
supporting schools and educators to share their stories
instructional design
effective project management and team leadership
video production and post-production.
She has a wide and varied range of experience and skill in the education sector. Jane has been a primary school teacher and leader in Australia and New Zealand before moving into the area of teacher professional development as an ICT Facilitator. Prior to joining Evaluation Associates | Te Huinga Kākākura Mātauranga, she spent ten years leading and managing the curriculum support resources programme for CORE Education.
Jane’s Master’s thesis “Mirrors of practice and windows of possibility”, examined the use of digital storytelling for whole school professional development. Jane is a life-long learner. She is currently completing an MBA at the University of Otago, and has a Master of Education (Distinction), Postgraduate Diploma of Teaching ICT (Distinction), Bachelor of Education, and a Bachelor of Arts (Education). Jane combines her extensive educational knowledge and business management skills to her work leading Evaluation Associates’ publications portfolio.
When not working Jane’s favourite things to do are to engage in hot yoga, indulge her photography habit, and listen to the bands Koizilla and Dale Kerrigan.
