Bruce Warren

Programme Facilitator - Ikaroa Nōta/Northern Team

Bruce Warren brings over 35 years of leadership experience to his work, including 23 years as a principal and five years as a Principal Advisor working across a wide range of schools throughout the country. He is currently serving as a Programme Facilitator for the Beginning Principals Programme (2026-2028).

With his extensive background, Bruce's focus is on providing targeted, tailored, and timely support to principal colleagues. He specialises in leadership coaching, facilitating professional learning groups, and providing customised professional growth cycle support. His approach is always to walk alongside the people he works with. He is also a keen advocate for using smart tools like NotebookLM to help leaders gain back precious time.

A Fellow of APPA from a multi-generational family of educators, education is deeply woven into Bruce's life. He has been happily married to Karen for over 40 years and cherishes time with their three adult children and three grandchildren. Away from mentoring, he can be found singing barbershop harmonies or swinging a golf club with more intent than skill – with his sons on hand to offer advice.
