Brian Sheedy
Brian is a principal advisor in the Waikato region, working primarily with beginning principals.
He has had 31 years of principalship in six different schools, ranging in size from a sole charge position with two staff members to over 90. His last position was as the foundation principal of Te Totara Primary School in Hamilton where the roll grew from 58 students to over 800. In addition to his principal work, Brian has been involved with the Education Review Office as a contract reviewer for 20 years, allowing him to see many schools in action and reflect on what works well for students and learning.
During his career he has been involved in initiatives that have supported colleagues, with a particular focus on school self-review and improvement that supports student achievement. He has enjoyed the challenges and opportunities that principalship brings and is happy to be now giving back to the profession by supporting principals in their work.
