Brett Larsen
Brett is a principal advisor for Waiariki/Bay of Plenty. Brett has 20+ years of educational leadership experience both within New Zealand and overseas. In New Zealand, Brett has been principal at Te Puke Primary and Omanu School in the Bay of Plenty, Mauao Kahui Ako co-leader, and a University of Waikato lecturing fellow. Overseas, Brett has been a senior management consultant in education reform and a founding principal-CEO in Dubai. As a teacher, he was the recipient of a number of national educational excellence and innovation awards.
Brett values people and relationships, caring deeply about growing highly effective school cultures and curriculum to meet the needs and aspirations of all. Brett is a realist, who brings a wealth of experience and thoroughly enjoys supporting the development of future and current educational leaders in New Zealand.

Brett and his family live opposite the beach in the sunny Bay of Plenty. Aside from his work as an advisor, Brett enjoys being out on the water, landing fat east and west coast snapper, seeking elusive birdies on the golf course, and thoroughly enjoying lots of laughter and fun with whānau and friends.
