Rose Stanley
Rose works as an education consultant based in Christchurch. She works with schools in the following areas:
literacy
oral language
assessment for learning
Teaching as Inquiry for accelerated learning
PaCT
beginning teacher support
e-asTTle.
Rose joined the Evaluation Associates | Te Huinga Kākākura Mātauranga team in 2017, after working for nearly five years as a literacy advisor and Accelerating Learning in Literacy (ALL) mentor for UC Education Plus. She has recently co-lectured in primary assessment at Canterbury University, and in 2017 completed her Masters of Education, with first class honours, endorsed in e-learning and digital technologies.
Before working as a facilitator, Rose taught for many years across the primary year levels, from new entrant through to year 8, as well as five years reading recovery teaching. She has also held different school leadership positions, including deputy and acting principal roles. Rose was seconded to work as a facilitator for the Assess to Learn contract while still teaching and then as a Curriculum Development advisor, helping schools to further develop their local curriculum.
Rose is highly passionate about literacy and has strong pedagogical knowledge. She works alongside teachers and leaders to develop effective systems and practices that lead to students experiencing successful learning.
Outside of work Rose enjoys spending time with her family, loves to travel, and is actively involved in various fundraising and community events.
