Māori medium PLD priorities

Marau ā kura 

  • Whakapakari i te whanaungatanga i waenga o tangata whenua. Strengthen relationships with tangata whenua

  • Whakapakari i te tuakiri ahurea o te ākonga. Strengthen the cultural identity of ākonga 

  • Tūhura i ngā hītori, kōrero ō-nehe o te rohe. Explore local histories

  • Hanga “Raukura mō te Ākonga”. Create a graduate profile. 

Mātauranga Māori

  • Whai māramatanga ki te tirohanga ao Māori me te mātauranga Māori. Understand a Māori worldview and Māori knowledge

  • Whakamana i Te Tiriti o Waitangi mā te tautoko i ngā kaiako ki te hoahoa  ngātahi he marau e whakaatu ana i te mātauranga Māori. Give effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi by supporting kaiako to co-design a curriculum that reflects Mātauranga Māori

  • Whai māramatanga mō te pou tarāwaho o ‘Te Mātaiaho’ me ngā kaupapa o te Mana Ōrite mō te Mātauranga Māori. Deepen understanding of Te Mātaiaho, Mana Ōrite mō te Mātauranga Māori. 

Te reo Māori

  • Arotake i ngā hōtaka reo Māori. Review Te Reo Māori programmes.

  • Whakapakari kaiako i ngā tini āhuatanga o te whakaako me te  aromatawai. Strengthen kaiako capability to teach and assess effectively

  • Whakapakari mātauranga mō te whakaakoranga me te hopu reo. Strengthen knowledge of pedagogy and language acquisition  

  • Hoahoa ngātahi i ngā kaupapa ako e hono ana ki tō marau ā-kura. Co-design learning programmes that align with your marau ā-kura

  • Hoahoa ngātahi i ngā kaupapa ako mā ngā ākonga matatau ki te reo me ngā ākonga reo tuarua. Co-design learning programmes that cater to a range of language levels - reo speaking students and second language learners

  • Whakapakari māramatanga e pā ana ki ngā paerewa paetae hou o te NCEA. Strengthen understanding of the new NCEA achievement standards.

Aromatawai 

  • Whakawhanake i ngā mōhitanga e pā ana ki te aromatawai. Support kaiako to develop their understanding of aromatawai  

  • Tūhura i te hōhonutanga o te aromatawai - ‘ō te ako mō te ako’. Explore aromatawai in-depth – ‘of learning, for learning’

  • Tautoko i te arotake o ngā pūnaha me ngā tukanga o te aromatawai, me te mahi whakaōrite. Support the review of assessment systems and processes, including moderation.
