Stephen Blair

Principal Advisor

Stephen is a principal advisor to schools in the Waikato region. He works primarily with beginning principals, and other principals when required.

Prior to this role, Stephen was a school principal with 28 years’ experience leading and managing medium to large multicultural schools. His most recent position was Principal of Tokoroa North School which he held for 23 years.

In conjunction with his work as a principal he has had extensive experience working with the Education Review Office, Ministry of Education, School Trustees Association, Multiserve Education Trust, Auckland University First Time Principals’ Programme, school boards and principals. This involved engagement as a consultant, interventionist, mentor, appraiser, mediator, investigator and trainer.

Stephen is married to Donna (a teacher) and they have two married daughters and two grandchildren. They live in the rural South Waikato, near Tokoroa. Stephen enjoys trout fishing, outdoor work, cooking and listening to music.
