Assessment for learning: blended and distance learning

This course is designed to support you to think about how to embed the principles of assessment for learning in a blended or distance learning environment.

Whether you’ve decided to provide opportunities for learners to become more active by harnessing a blended approach or if situations emerge where there is a need for learning to occur at distance for a period of time.

Learning outcomes

  • Understand how assessment literacy can be maintained in blended learning and teaching
  • Understand how promoting further learning and active reflection can be maintained in blended learning and teaching.

What to expect

We synthesise the often overwhelming range of support, advice, and guidance on blended and distance learning into the assessment for learning framework. We’ll connect you with the most up-to-date thinking on blended and distance learning and provide practical strategies which you can enact in your own practice – through and beyond the walls of your classroom!

You will explore three modules of learning at your pace. Each module contains readings, videos, reflections, activities to complete, and interactive content. You will be supported an assessment for learning facilitator who will provide feedback on your reflections and completed activities.

Who this course is for

Any teacher or leader who wishes to move their current assessment for learning practice through and beyond the walls of their classroom. It is also an excellent learning programme for anyone leading pedagogy and supporting staff to consider how to embed distance learning in a way that supports active learning.

This course is designed for people who have a sound understanding of the principles of assessment for learning.
