A new way of working

EA provides Professional Learning and Development that helps you get better results

Snapshots of recent work

Boards of Trustees

Boards of Trustees have requested and received professional development in all matters of governance. This includes self review, strategic and annual planning, monitoring student achievement and engaging with the range of groups within a school community.

School leaders

School leaders have received support to have open- to-learning conversations in a way which builds respect and trust in the school community, while addressing issues openly and honestly. Leaders at all levels of the school have been supported to give effective feedback to their colleagues, to address issues which are impacting on student learning and achievement, and to communicate effectively with parents and whanau.

Principals and teachers

Principals and teachers around the country have learnt about e-asTTle’s new features and received support to trouble shoot technical issues. Most importantly teachers have learnt how to use e-asTTle in ways that help students celebrate
their learning and be clear about their next learning steps.

The Assess to Learn programme

Schools participating in 2010 achieved outstanding results. This Ministry- funded programme, adapted to meet each school’s specific needs, involved an in-depth examination of Assessment for Learning principles and practices which are known to raise student achievement. Facilitators worked with schools for a minimum of two years to build students’, teachers’ and leaders’ assessment capability. In the 14 schools who were working for their second year with EA in 2010, 92% of students achieved significant to large effect size shifts in standardised and
normed assessments.
