Brent is part of the professional learning and development team based in Christchurch, supporting school leaders and teachers to improve student outcomes through effective teaching practice and pedagogical leadership.

Brent comes from a rich teaching background having taught through years 1 to 8 and he brings both empathy and experience to his facilitation. He has recent successful school-based pedagogical leadership experience using assessment for learning and collaborative inquiry for school improvement. Other strengths include curriculum and systems development, data analysis, reporting and self-review.

Brent supports leaders and teachers to establish evidence-based practice using collaborative inquiry that accelerates student learning, enables self-review for continuous improvement and effective teacher appraisal against the practising teacher criteria. Schools establish effective practice through sound pedagogy and facilitation is tailored to learner, teacher and leadership needs through co-constructed action planning and change management.

Brent enjoys family time and supporting his children in their tennis and music pursuits.
