Marilyn is one of the new Leadership Advisors with Evaluation Associates, working with beginning principals in the Auckland area.
Prior to this role, she was a principal for 19 years including, most recently, 12 years at Papatoetoe Central School, a large primary school in South Auckland.
Other previous roles in education include:
- Associate Director, First Time Principals’ Programme, The University of Auckland
- Contractor, Academic Development Unit, Unitec Institute of Technology, Auckland
- Ten years’ involvement in initial teacher education, including Assistant Director of Primary Teacher Education, at the former Auckland College of Education
Marilyn is currently completing her accreditation as a growth coach with Growth Coaching International.
She has extensive experience in leadership development and she has been involved in principal appointments and principal appraisals.
She was a member of the team who was invited by the Woolf Fisher Trust to set up fellowships for primary and intermediate school principals, and was subsequently awarded a Woolf Fisher fellowship that included leadership development at Harvard University.
As a previous President of the Auckland Primary Principals’ Association, Marilyn enjoyed contributing to the broader education community in Auckland.
She has strong interests in coaching, mentoring and in supporting the development of colleagues in the profession.
