Lin is an experienced change manager focusing on school transformation through sound assessment and pedagogical practice and strong teacher-student learning partnerships. She has experience in both school management and governance and has been the member of an establishment Board of Trustees.
Lin has a BA and a postgraduate Diploma in Educational Administration.
Lin is passionate about improving achievement for New Zealand's priority learners. She particularly enjoys mentoring senior leaders and has experience in this area in both New Zealand and Australia.
“The Board of Trustees employed Lin Avery to advise and work alongside us in the process of employing a new principal for our school.
Lin came in with a schedule, calendar and a complete process. She helped us prioritise the wants and expectations for our incoming principal and from that helped us to write appropriate questions to be asked at the interview and what answers should look like.
From writing the initial advertisement to the actual employment contract Lin helped in every aspect. Lin is an extremely experienced educator with wisdom and a huge knowledge of hat to look for in a principal. She never crossed the line and allowed the Board to make all the decisions. Her process made the extremely hard task of finding the right principal for our school a happy and successful one.
I would highly recommend Lin to all and any schools looking to employ a consultant.”
