Assessing the progress of students with special education needs: Māori medium

In 2012 we will offer support to kura and schools with Māori medium settings to assess the progress of students with special education needs and identify next learning steps.

The key intention of this support is to ensure students with special education needs receive an education that is inclusive and within the framework of Te Marautanga o Aotearoa. Our facilitators will utilise a narrative assessment approach, adapted to the kura context, to help students and their whānau, pouako and tūmuaki to carefully assess and monitor learning successes and next steps.

This ministry-funded support is available in the North Island.
