Learning support PLD: Understanding Positive Behaviour Support
Developing learning-focused relationships with your learners who require additional support can be challenging for teachers. This practical workshop aims to demystify positive behaviour support and equip educators with the right understanding to best support their learners.
This workshop is ideal for teachers, teacher aides, SENCOs, Learning Support Co-ordinators (LSC), RTLBs, kaiako in early learning settings, and leaders.
Brenda Ellis will be leading this series of workshops. Brenda has specialist knowledge, expertise and in-depth experience in learning support, having recently joined Evaluation Associates from Salisbury School (a national residential school for young people with complex needs based in Nelson). Focus of each session:
- background on positive behaviour support
- practical strategies for teachers to assist in positively managing behaviour to enhance learning
- question and answer session
- unpacking real life scenarios as a group.
Morning tea and all resources are provided. This workshop is part of our learning support summer taster series. Over the course of two days, we are offering four practical workshops focused on different conditions learners may have. We encourage you to look at the four workshops and consider attending more than one.
