Consultants at Evaluation Associates are at the forefront of the latest developments in In-Service Teacher Education. They are involved at all levels, including research, resource development, training and implementation.

Two consultants from the company have been National Co-ordinators for the Ministry of Education initiative called INSTEP (In-Service Teacher Educator Practice), and the rest of the team has been involved in the project at various levels. This is a long term research and development project which set out to develop a knowledge and evidence base about effective inservice teacher educator practice and learning, and to provide support for improvement. The project has published an extensive set of learning materials called Ki te Aoturoa, also available as a web-based resource.

The wide involvement of EA consultants in this project has helped not only to improve national capacity in providing  inservice teacher education, but has also greatly enhanced company and facilitator capability. Consultants have been in the fortunate position of being able to test theories and try out strategies and techniques in their work in schools, and have had the opportunity to think deeply about how best to deliver effective teacher and adult education.
