New Zealand Transport Agency programme development

Project

This is a cross-agency project to create an innovative national programme for driver education in New Zealand that will primarily be accessed via digital channels. The New Zealand Transport Agency commissioned Mary Chamberlain to provide pedagogical and curriculum support for the project.

Process

Mary helped coach the project team (who weren’t experienced in developing teaching and learning programmes) through the development of a curriculum for novice drivers and is a leading member of the expert advisory group helping NZTA to develop the programme.

Impact

“Mary’s breadth of expertise and versatility have been vital to the project: she has guided us through the abstract pedagogical principles, given savvy advice on our design processes and the best use of experts, and provided pragmatic and practical comments about the actual learning tools we are developing. In short she has been indispensable and a pleasure to work with.”
